Re: WoW vs. Ryzom
WoW = dumbed down, linear, kiddie-type game, with an immature community for the most part. A good example of how far a very polished game can go, even though it's game-play has been rehashed over and over again. Its lore is rather cliche and un-original as well, IMO.
Ryzom = immersive, complex and has one of the most mature communities I have ever encountered in an MMO. One of the best examples of sandbox game-play around. Very unique lore that continuously grows based upon the communities actions in-game. In short, Ryzom > WoW by far ![]() (What kind of answer were you expecting? This is the Ryzom forum, after-all :P ) |

Re: WoW vs. Ryzom
1. If asked to say which is better, people here are going to say Ryzom, because this is a Ryzom forum.
2. "Better" is a matter of opinion. It's not an absolute. Even if everyone here tells you Ryzom's better, you might decide you prefer WoW. That said, Ryzom and WoW are very different from each other. You should try have an open mind while evaluating Ryzom.

*ROFLMAO* Y´sure ![]() ![]() *hugs Tigrus* Anw, but they´re all correct, the Games are too different from each other to realy compare them. As a generalisation I´d say that Ryzom carters more to the mature mind in its complexity and sometimes plain "complicatedness". You need a certain amount of patience to realy "play" Ryzom. It does not lead you by the hand and does not give you all you need on a silver plate. (mind you, some players may do so nonetheless ![]() But you need to do much more yourself, then in WoW. Some Playerskills are for example needed, rather then the Skills of your Avatar. Just read the Thread linked in my Signature and I hope you´ll get a good impression from it. ![]() CU and Welcome to Atys Acridiel CU Acridiel Last edited by acridiel : April 27th, 2007 at 01:10 PM. |

Re: WoW vs. Ryzom
well, i played wow a lot of time too, and i got hooked to Ryzom 2 days after entering Silan.
you cant really compare the two, as they gather a different public. i'm not going to flame wow, i like it. but i dont look in Ryzom for the same things. |

Re: WoW vs. Ryzom
Hi I am fairly new also. I played WOW for awhile but I cant give you a comparison. I quit because I couldn't play without see conversation all over the place that I just wasn't interested in seeing. Took all of the fun out of it for me. And I didn't find it to be really challenging mentally. It just came across to me **no offense to anyone** like a little kids game inclusive of bad language.
I am really enjoying playing Ryzom to date as I have had no issues with unnecessary language all over the boards. The game play takes just a little thought and I havn't had to constantly refuse duels every 2 seconds. I myself enjoy the crafting and harvesting part of this game. I like the intone conversations and I like the way everyone usually completes a thought when they are speaking in game. I am enjoying the time it takes to get things done. But then I am not a grinder. I like the scenery and the people they seem much more mature and more dedicated to quality playing. In my particular opinion Rysom would be better than WOW for my temprament. I really think that it depends upon the person. But then I also got bored with EQ, EQ2 and several others. At a certain point they all became the same this one is different for now and I really hope it stays that way. Kind, considerate and mature. |
