So what now? Assault Arispotle?

As it now looks like we're all heading to that great mass of weirdos that is Arispotle, what do the rest of you want to do? We'll arrive cats/mats/and inventories intact, but without any OPs or territory. What will we do to take care of this?

Should we:
A. Form a superguild of Cho refugees and start taking OPs we need.

B. Create a single alliance message board for Cho guilds, (ala the Camelot Station of Battletech). We get together and plan which OPs we need, and then assign a particular guild to do the business of declaring war for the alliance and splitting the spoils on a weekly basis from our conquests.

C. Die a slow, ignoble death as we gradually become absorbed by Arispotle guilds.

I figure we can think of some strategies here, then do the final decision using uni chat on Cho when we're of one mind on this.

I am not sure that calling folks that agree you got a bad deal, weirdo's is exactly the best thing to do... but if it helps you sway others by creating badguy's go for it. I hope your transition goes well, it sure doesn't seem like your going with the right foot forward though.

Thanks for letting me know who not to be nice to. Geez, talk about rude. And you say those that play on Arispotle are mean.

And by the way, you will only lose your identity if that is what you choose. I was a part of a server merge, and while I will never forget what Windermeer was like and my family there, new families develop and grow.

Think of it as a marriage. You 'leave' your mommy and daddy at home (hopefully) and move on to your wife or husband or significant other and the family you create together. You still have mommy and daddy there, but you also have daughter and son and person you cuddle with at night. Get me? Good.

You are perfectly welcome not to be nice to me, I expect nothing less. I don't think any of the three of you quite understand how the situation looks to us, so I'll attempt to enlighten you.

On Cho, when we take an OP, everyone shows up. I mean everyone. If you can swing a hammer, you're there. Karavan or Kami does not matter, you help because you can. When Lost Valley Stronghold finally fell, every player on Cho over lvl 100 with Zora access online was gleefully hacking, nuking, or healing away in Void. This is what we have built on Cho, a community where when someone needs help, we do so. We give away armor, weapons, cats, etc. Helping someone else puts another healer, crafter, or digger on the map, someone that will no doubt be more than willing to help us later on when we need it.

Now, let's look at how you've portrayed Arispotle to us over the last few months...

Most recently, we have mugendo's thread over here: http://forums.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29789
Which pretty much starts out saying Cho is nothing more than needless competition. No, Cho was the "frontier" to Arispotle's "city". We chose to live here because of the challenge and the lack of players, not in spite of them. Saying that we only existed to be a pale shadow of Arispotle and attempt to recreate that server does every player on Cho a disservice by belittling everything we've managed to build on that frontier.

Secondly, nearly every player on Cho has at least attempted to make an alt on Arispotle, after all, it costs us absolutely nothing to start a newbie there. I've sampled your Silan in depth over the last month or so before I even knew the server was closing. I've met all your newbies and alt chars, I've read your uni chat. You've been judged, and you were found lacking.

Yes, Arispotle is more than Ruins of Silan, and looking at the free account holders is no way to judge a server. But realize that you are your own PR department, and we read your threads on a regular basis. Trust me, for every good thread I've found about Arispotle, I have to read something like this:
http://forums.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28981
Dude, you guys slay non-combatants, how screwed up is your server? I've witnessed Karavan guilds railing against other Karavan guilds for taking their OPs, I've watched you rip each other to shreds in these forums over the smallest matters. My take on Arispotle is that you're a bunch of rabid dogs, and I'm being force marched into this mess with the rest of Cho. I'm not singling you out for verbal abuse here, I'm preparing.

By no means am I doing this alone, either. I'm watching good people like Crazod and Dragan up and quit the game rather than be dumped in with you. Those three suggestions above that have you all so worked up? They're not mine. That's Cho /uni from around 11 PM MST 2-3 days ago. I'm not asking people from Cho to respond to new options, I'm trying to get clarification on which option we decided to go with.

except the ops, cant see a difference.
now ops are different, being a small population helps a lot. you dont have to fight for limited ressources..and that, i suppose it what bugs you..
i called that being spoiled...

you know, as sad as i was hearing the news. because some things shouldnt be done to players, now i think that if all Cho player are like you, then we are the one who should moan...
i've never been abused since i started on Aris. even by my so-called 'enemies'.
what you say is just elitist and provincial : 'poor us, we are so perfect, what are we going to do ?? *whines* '

well, i still think we will welcome a lot of good people from Cho, even if forced.
but i'm not that hopeful at the moment..

If you go into the merge with a negitive view of how things will be, that is what you will find. Try to be open minded when you get to Aris and you will see there are a lot of good Homins that are willing to help.
I was part of the last merge and I know how it feels, I think I'm better off for it, I met a lot of new Homins that I now call friends.

A - unlikely with game mechanics, everyone would have to be on the same side, or netural

B - Yup sounds liek a good idea, tho from what i gather with numbers, conquering all of the OP's on aris wont be that easy. Plus there are lots of Cho players who have main toons / friends on aris, so im sure they wont want to lose that.

C - How would joining a new guild kill you? - i dont nuderstand, keep the guild your in, you're not being booted from it. prove yourself, by working hard to becoe beter than the 'weridos' you describe. Just becuase you are not on familiure soil doesnt mean you cant make it your home.

Ive not played much on cho, but what i do know, is that it is actually an easier server (in its current state) almost infinet cats being one of them, im sure id be master Ha craft by now

Aris's silan is nothing like its mainland, i would have suggested moving off silan before weighing and judging us (and stealing lines from 'A knights tale')

I would suggest that you get used to the fact that the merge will happen, whether or not you like it. So i give you three options

A - Make the best of a not so great situation, make a name for yourself on a server where its harder to do so

B - continue to whine, 'throw your toy out of the pram' and go against everyone who's native from aris. Find yourself slowly amoungst less and less people and grind away/

C - Move on.

As a thought, once you move to aris, would you take on new people? i mean they're not from cho, they're from aris's silan. So does that mean you want every guild from cho to stagnate?
