Crafting Magic?
As some of you might know, I am a little bit into crafting. I am a low level amp crafter, but during my research I have made alot observations I would love to discuss.
For example one is, a good shaft and grip material ruin the magic focus stats, why is this? Also I noticed minimum changes in shaft/grip materials result in huge changes of the magic focus. After hearing alot of rumors I can exclude the following things: skill level, material order, weather, time of the day and luck. I believe it must be a hidden stat somewhere like a "boost" potential, is anyone else also investigating this issue and interested to chat abit? Send me a PM or reply to this thread! Regards, Arc |

Re: Crafting Magic?
Thank you very much! I have also heard from crafters, that you don't need 100% in the preview window to get 100% at the end? SO what does the preview show if not the preview? Those things totally confuse me...

![]() Imo the craftig system with all its odds is one of the truly cool features in Ryzom, and it is a very good thing that no one can be 100% sure he found the best or most economic recipe for any item yet.It also is vey nice to see that those things are still kept fairly secret by the master crafters ![]() Last edited by martl : June 28th, 2007 at 07:17 PM. |

Re: Crafting Magic?
1. There's the stat and then there's "the stat" just like there's supreme crafted items and what I call "fake supreme". For example with HA, it only takes about 10% of the mats to be supreme in order to get a HA set where each piece "says" it's supreme.
Maximum PF for example is 60% for HA (boosts excluded for purposes of this conversation). So if precraft shows 99 and that 99 is bigger than 99.16%, then your result should be 60% PF. On parry, I'm not quite sure precraft of 87-88 gets you a +2 on parry and 100 gets you a +3. I have never quite figured out where the cutoff is....nor have I figured out whether it stores the decimal after the item is crafted. I don't think it does. What I mean is let's say a precraft of 100 is +3 parry and 88 is +2 parry (even). So that would make precraft of 94 +2.5 . So if you craft w/a precraft of 95, does that make 2.58 which rounds up to what we "see" as +3 like 10% sup mats gets you a supreme label. And what is the effect.....does it change a toon's parry then by 6 x 2.58 or 6 x 3.00 ? I'm pretty darn sure once it has been rounded to 3 it actually behaves as a full 3 but I can't say 100% sure as I never wanted to waste too many of those hard to get mats to find out ![]() 2. I think the grade of the material has some effect on the crafting formula and results. For example, at least pre patch, I noticed that degrades were far more frequent making supreme sets as oppossed to making excellent or choice sets. I just haven't amde too many choice / excellent sets post patch to judge. I still observe however that boosts are far less frequent with all supreme mats than they are with "fake sup" sets or exe sets. I have crafted 162 all supreme pieces in a row without a boost. Yet whenever I make a "fake sup" set, boosts seem to be quite frequent, I'd say I get one boost per set most times making those and 2 pieces boosted in at least 1 outta 3 or 4 sets. |

Re: Crafting Magic?
I have heard many rumors now regarding amps, one is, there is supposed to be an amp that only uses excellent zun amber and shows 84% in stats. Many claim to have it, but nobody could show me an example.
So I'll ask here, do you have a screenshot of such a thing? Have you ever seen such a thing? ![]() |

Re: Crafting Magic?
its possable, but no way to know if ur mix will do it untill u craft (unless u have all craft formulas ofc lol), the max precraft ive ever got is 79 (wich results in 83) but 79.4 wich will still show as '79' will get u 83.5 (84%) that btw will boost to 97 and not 96 like most boosted exel zun amps end up as =)
