Fashion Contest Poll II

Due to Ryzom Forums limitations, a poll can only have 10 options. Making a poll outside the Forums allows too little security regarding who votes, so I'll just create, upon Boroshi's advice 2 polls here. The competitors will be listed alphabetically.

Please cast one vote on one only poll not on both.

Uhm, so basically everyone has 2 votes? Technically impossible to prevent people from voting in both polls and a new problem appears too.

If one wants to vote for two people listed in the same poll its impossible, but if they are separated you can vote for both. How can you make this fair?

Can do a poll that's not anonymous, then it's easy to pick out the double voters.

Ofcourse then there's the problem of everyone being afraid to vote because the other 19 contestant will know who to smack.

Yeah I see your point but really don't know to make it better. Even if we had 20 options possible in a poll somebody could have still cheated if he wanted to, only needs a new free account, right?


I have asked for help and apparently there is no means to make a 20 people poll on these forums.

I guess we should just rely on people honesty in this. Talking about fashion and RP I guess we could promote some trust.

New accounts and people who unsubbed cannot vote. To make this fair to all Atysians, it may have to be moved to an outside forum.

Sorry for this I realised of course too late but also a lot of people have cast already their votes and won't check the newbie forums to cast the vote again.

All in all I take this first event (for me) as a lesson. I learnt that:
- first of all create a list of guilds contacts and tell personally, if it were only based on forums announce we would have had only one competitor
- secondly I surely need a reliable transformation clock, last time I used one over the Internet it sent me one hour later than the event, this time the event was 30 min earlier:/
- cannot - sadly - create such a competition over the game forums as the limitations are too drastical (10 options per poll) - leave alone we cannot add an image to every option, cannot offer the possiblity to cast a defined number of votes etc (personally I would have created a 20 entries poll with images accessibe directly from poll and 3 votes per person so that eve if you don't win to see correctly if someone appreciated your work) - In this respect I'd wish that the forums were more dedicated to players creations
- as things are probably creating a board of judges would be best and decide the winner on the spot, this will also give us the pleasure to see the handing of the prizes directly in game, more immersion.

However these are just some disfunctionalities I couldn't avoid, next time will be better
