Created a section to house Philips Interactive Media Technical Notes under the heading CD-i Documentation. Included the first document designated Technical Note #069, titled Technical Status of the Philips 910 CD-i Player.

The Complete CD-i Players Overview section has been updated with information concerning CD-i Emulation. Containing a brief description of the first serious attempt at CD-i emulation in CD-iCE and the newly released and active project CD-i Emulator.

CD-i Fan has released his CD-i Emulator version 0.5.2 from the official cdiemu.org website with a time limited trial edition available for free download. The full unlimited CD-i Emulator is available for an initial payment of 25 Euros with free future updates on the base case version. The links section has been updated accordingly.

Craig Elliott has released documentation and files on an extension to his previous project to create an adapter to convert a PS/2 PC mouse for use on a CD-i player. Available in the new CD-i Homebrew Downloads section.

CD-i Fan released a new version of the CD-i Link program which allows you to communicate with a CD-i player through your PC using a nullmodem cable. Available through the PC/Windows section in a new CD-i communication tools archive.
Updated the CD-i Disc Image Downloads section with the CD-i Stub also developed by CD-i Fan which some players require to initiate the CD-i Link program. Source files have been included in a seperate file available from the same section.

Created a new Press Information category under the CD-i Promotional Material section chronicling press releases for CD-online, CD-i/TV with touch screen, Showmaster and the announcement of the adventure game Lost Eden.

Since the expiration of the icdia.org website hosting has now transferred to icdia.co.uk under the CDinteractive network for CD-i related websites. The ICDIA will be maintained on-line for archival purposes and will now receive updates when new resources become available.

Put announcement on front page, explaining that this site is no longer maintained or updated. It will remain available online for archival purposes.
Replaced "contact me" links at many locations with referrals to CD-i discussion boards and news groups, as CD-i support is no longer given by me via e-mail.
Changed some entries in the FAQ to reflect current CD-i situation (mainly by removing referrals to never completed CD-i emulator and links to companies which formerly sold CD-i equipment).
Removed CD-i Player Manuals section, due to the fact that ALL manuals are now available from Philips Customer Care web site.
Updated Web Links section (mainly by removing outdated web sites).

Robin Burrows released a new version of TOCSplit, which allows you to write Video-CD 2.0 Toolkit disc images using CDRWin, Nero, Gear and other popular recording software. Available in the new archive and as a seperate download from the Video-CD 2.0 Toolkit page.

Added a tool called Tonigy to the PC downloads section. It allows you to access CD-i discs under OS/2, view the files contained on a disc and watch video files. OS/2 only!

Added the classic Video-CD 2.0 Toolkit software from Philips Media/OptImage to the PC/Windows downloads section. This software allows you to create (full CD-i compatible) discs using ALL of the features offered by the Video-CD 2.0 standard.
Slightly expanded the ICDIA CD-i software archive by adding some 15 titles.

The Microware OS-9 manuals are now available in Portable Document Format (PDF) instead of Rich Text Format. Corrected layout and other conversion errors. These manuals give an in-depth technical overview of CD-i's operating system.

Added a new tool called Dart Karaoke Studio CD+G to the CD+G creation tools page under PC/Windows downloads. It allows you to create karaoke music CDs with CD+Graphics pictures and lyrics that can be displayed on a CD-i player among others.

The CD-i FAQ 2000 Edition is now available in Portable Document Format (PDF), for easy off-line reference. It can be downloaded from the FAQ index screen. Slightly updated the FAQ (both online version and PDF version), corrected minor errors.

Added a fantastic article by Alan Cawson and Leslie Haddon of the University of Sussex and Ian Miles of the University of Manchester, giving an in-depth overview of the conception and marketing of CD-i over the years. A lot of interviews held by the authors resulted in a unique inside view of CD-i's history starting in the late 70s. It should be read by anyone with the slightest interest in multimedia in general and CD-i in particular. It can be found in the Articles section.

Added the latest version of the CD-i Filesystem Driver for Windows, the tool that allows you to read the contents of a CD-i disc and view MPEG sequences from CD-i titles on a PC, to the PC/Windows download section under Disc Tools. It has many new features and bug fixes, and now comes with the program sources! Also updated the article about the driver.

Added Media Raider to the PC/Windows Downloads section, under Disc Tools. It allows for the extraction of MPEG data from certain CD-i disc. Not as sophisticated as ISO Buster!
Included a document which lists Philips' CD-i specific patents in the Technical Documentation/ Hardware section.

Added an Interactive Forum to this site. From now on, you will be able to participate in discussions about CD-i software and hardware, the creation of CD-i and Video-CD titles, accessing CD-i discs on other platforms and lots more!
Added CD image files of various versions of the MediaMogul CD-i authoring package for CD-i development players and authoring boards in the CD-i Development Player Downloads section.
Divided the Promotional Videos section into two parts: general CD-i system videos and CD-i software videos. Added 3 software videos and 2 general promotional videos.

Added CD+G Creator to the PC/Windows downloads section. It allows you to include graphics according to the CD+Graphics standard on a CD-Audio disc. These graphics can then be displayed on a TV set using a CD-i player.

Microware Systems Corporation kindly supplied us with three complete OS-9 2.4 manuals (Technical Manual, Technical I/O Manual and Using Professional OS-9) for exclusive publication on this website. CD-i's operating system was based on OS-9 2.4. These manuals can be found in a dedication section under CD-i Documentation.

Included manuals about installing OS-9 utilties on a CDI 605 system, accessing them, setting up a TCP/IP network on a CDI 605, using SCSI devices and configuring the PC-DOS file manager in a new section called Authoring Manuals.

Expanded the amount of downloadable files! Now ShowBuilder and HAL90, both CD-i development tools for Windows, are available on the site.
Included a new asset management tool, MediaStockRoom, for download.
You can now even download various versions of the CD-i runtime application for Video-CD (3.2 and 4.1.1) and Photo-CD.

KennisOnline.com and the International CD-i Association (ICDIA) have joined forces, resulting in a combined website. This website can be found at www.icdia.org. The CD-i section at KennisOnline.com will soon be removed, so make sure to update your bookmarks! Jorg Kennis, the webmaster of the CD-i section at KennisOnline.com, will be responsible for the content of the new site at ICDIA, and he will maintain all Internet-related activities of the ICDIA, such as development support via e-mail.

Completely revised the Complete CD-i Players Overview. Corrected errors that were still in it according to new "old" information from Philips with regard to the used PCB, player shell, input ports and CD drive mechanism. Now it also includes a list of OEM-versions produced by Philips for other companies.
Revised the Overview of Digtal Video cartidges. Now it includes both "slash" and AH# versions, including the used ROM-version, chipset and compatibility issues.
Please note that this What's New section just opened by the end of February 2000, and that changes made in the fist months are not listed here.
