Question on Nvidia Drivers & Vista
Added by FOADevs over 4 years ago
So I had a question, and I'm not sure if anyone else can assist me with this; I'm assuming it's relatively simple. I have Vista 64 bit Home Premium, with an Nvidia 285 GTX video card. We have our shard up and running, and I'm trying to log into it, however I get 1 of 2 error messages:
nel_drv_opengl_win is a too old version. Ask for a more recent file
Or I get the "version is too new" of the same error.
I've tried to find the "right" driver that will work, but I've gone through about 5 versions and I haven't had any luck yet.
Does anyone know a good stable driver release that I can use that will work with Ryzom's "base" shard? There's a bunch out there, and I want to know which one others have had success with. Thanks!

nel_drv_opengl_win.dll is too old
this is generic error client gives if that .dll reports different "API" version.
You probably have custom client compiled, so somewhere in build tree should be those .dll's you need to copy to your client directory.

It's a matter of client binary and drivers revision.
You can find a working client here for recent shards:
https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B3LX3q7MsUEGNDU5MDIzNWQtZmFhMi00ZGFmLTg0NzgtZjE4NTkwYjhjOGJh
For old one such as open ryzom:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/ryzom/files/ryzom_client_open.7z/download
You can build your own binary and drivers and replace the files.
