nel exporter.... lightmap glitch?

Ive tried every setting combo i could think of.... every result equals in NOT was is shown in max.... black blocks cover the entire area.
Whats the way to get the light/shadows to correctly export? .... or is it broke?

Lightmaps are built during the zone lighting process. If you're trying to replace existing .shape by overwriting, you'll mess up things.

Your exported shape file does not have the lightmaps rebuilt.
The build pipeline lights ig and shapes etc after exporting during the build pass.
The proper procedure is just letting the build pipeline do all the necessary steps, there's too much involved to do manually.

thanks kaetemi for the advice..... though i do admit, im still a little lost, ill examine the wiki a little more. Im trying to do a few basic tests before i start making new apartments meshes.... light map is one of them, i thought it was odd the nel exporter was not even creating a new map.... but i also find it odd the original one dont work, as the mesh was not touched.... was opened, exported...

im totally stuck.... i cant get the max scene to look like it does in Max, in game.

makes no sence to me, im getting zero results.... whats the proper export options?... whats goes in the .ig?? (everything, including mesh?)
Ive tried every combo i could think of, results vary, but none look like the scene in Max....
once all is set correct, just run game... and light ig will make the maps??

You need to have the build pipeline setup in order to build ingame data. Manually exporting from max is not necessary.

ok ill try, i thought the build pipeline was if i was going to use the ryzom assets.... since i wasnt, didnt know to do it.

If you're gonna replace assets you'll need to build them. ;)
