Re: State of the game
about the PvP - as others have said the team dropping bug makes FvF conflict a joke, really. and the last patch made the bug worse so meh meh meh @ nevrax
what did work without fault were the FvF area's, of which almati woods is still available but the FvF has been removed. How hard can it be to reinstate it, then at least those of us wishing to PvP have somewhere to go? Assuming its not hard, as the area was fully working and then was removed is there a reason you cant bring it back to FvF, if there is a reason at least then we stop asking.. above question is aimed at Marjo if she has finished breakfast ![]() |

Re: State of the game
I have to agree with the OP...
Ryzom ring didn't really disapoint me since I wasn't really looking forward to it. ![]() The whole team bug in PvP completly destroys the fun for me and is the Key reason I never tag up unless specificly asked... I joined in the battle in Dyron..1-Because I was already in Dyron. 2-because I was hoping to have fun.... But My fun was limited ...just as it was months ago when I stopped tagging up because of the team bug... Please Navrax... Im deffinetly 'not' a Pro-PvPer. Im more of a in the middle ![]() I think it would be awsome to have player housing... it really doesn't need to be on the main map... Make a new portal in each city that poofs you too a area where the player housing can be... Like the instanced apartments but an area where you can see other players houses... That way there is no worries of the mainland getting spammed with housing.... No idea if I made that clear enough to understand... Not feeling well and im tired lol... As for the OP wars... would be nice to see one ingame instead of on the forums ![]() |

Re: State of the game
I will only comment on Ring aspect, since I haven't been in-game long enough to lose the "sparkle" yet. I don't want to discredit anyone's concerns with my own new car smell.
It has been stated numerous times that Ryzom Ring would not have its full feature set when it launched, but rather would get more features as time progressed. I'm speculating here, but I would imagine that Nevrax wanted to get it released to use it to attract new subscriptions while they work on adding more features. The difference between Nevrax and... say SoE... is that Nevrax said it wasn't 100% polished off for release. SoE will sell an expansion for EQ2 unfinished, and work on it while people are playing it. They call the unfinished content "bugged". This was actually discussed in an interview I read a while back, but anyway... There are more features being introduced to the Ring in the next patch, and I won't claim to know when, or if, persistant scenarios will come into play. I would imagine that is something that will come when the rest of the intended features are introduced. |

Re: State of the game
No, No, don't compare Nevrax to SOE please
![]() People who come from SWg after a time start to forget how we were treated as credit cards with two legs. Nevrax has a lot of fine tunning to do, I agree. And whatever I wish we had player houses and cities I wouldn't insist on that because I do believe it's an expensive expansion. I would complain about bugs but again, while some small bugs like pvp ones could be addressed as a priority and add some fun to our lives in an easy way (even the boss you killed 100 times will be again interesting to kill if some crafter finds a new receipe for a top weapon you use in pvp), fine tunning of the ring I understand that will take a while. However remember SWG well: remember the maps with places that took 45 minutes to pass through because of getting stuck, remember CSRs coming to address your complaint in 36 hours or more, or even never if that was possible, sometimes not understanding plain english, sometimes not knowing the very basics of the game. Remember the changes to the game that never gave any consideration to any community feedback, remember the secrecy over such changes so that the community just had to face them or leave, remember the professions correspondents got out of their position if they dared to say anything wrong about long lists of bugs that made whole professions useless, remember whole proffessions wiped, remember work of players for years destroyed in one hour without even an appology, remember top gear of thousands of players reduced to nothing overnight, remember servers down without any feedback or ETA, remember credits dupping not punished and not rebalanced, remember exploits never addresed, remember the officials of SOE saying it clearly: you're not the customers we want. Nah Nevrax hasn't done anything to be compared to SOE. |

Oh no! I think I didn't clarify my point well enough. I was comparing the fact that Nevrax *did* tell us that Ring was not fully featured on release, where SoE would have lied about it calling the "missing content" bugs, and using the revenue from selling the unfinished expansion to fund the development of the expansion. Nevrax is FAR better a company in all respects than SoE. I played SWG for about 2 days before I cancelled it. I played EQ2 for a year and a half or more and it suffered the same fate. Most of the remaining players there are waiting for other games to be released. |

1. The ring I have not spent much time in...( I am lazy)....But the concept and the inclusion of this is a really nice feature. I used to spend hours in Neverwinter nights designing scenarios for friends (oh how I miss that free time I had back then ![]() 2. The PvP aspect of Ryzom Is fine as it is with voluntary and dedicated zones/times. of course the Bomb Bug is not acceptable....But this is the result of attempting to enforce moral restrictions in code. Easily rectified in my opinion (PvP battle/zone is just that, NO exceptions) 3. still in the short term myself....I am happy creating my own content still ![]() 4. OP is under serious review....even my opinion changes/alters when I hear good reasoning. I am happy overall in >>THE SAGA<< of ryzom, and do not look for alternative gaming outlets..well not MMORPG...just the usual FPS and Strategy game. |
