Re: Friendly Question

I've been through replacing RAM a few... times? lol, never mind that, I am going to upgrade it soon aswell. But my comp can only handle 1G of ram, so I'll double it.

As for brand and model i have a HP Pavilion dv4000, it handled WoW great, im having a hard time understanding why it's having a tough time with Ryzom... Though Ryzom is more graphic intensive. But not hugely...

As for the disabled/misconfigured chipset, that's imposible, this is a new laptop that hasn't had anyone touch it but me. No one...

romoko, though a gigabyte of RAM is quite nice for playing Ryzom, it won't help your black/white textures problem at all. This is related to your graphics chipset, which is simply not capable of handling the textures, as has been stated a few times in this thread.
I don't know what your HP Pavilion is capable of in terms of upgrades, but I am afraid your only choice would be to get another laptop/PC with a decent graphics card/chipset.

Onboard video chips such as Intel, SiS, lower end Mobility Radeons, etc will not usually work well with Ryzom.
You may get the "Can't create a window display (1024x768 32 bits)" error or see white everywhere. You will definitely get some lag.
(emphasis for effect )
