If the forums sound "down" then its because of a true lack of effort from the powers that are in control. if we were listened to more often, this would not be a problem. we can't just pretend everything's perfect when it isnt. if ryzom is losing prospective players - GF needs to realize why, and do something about it.

damnit i'm sounding bitter again O.o...

edit :: i've looked at other MMO forums too - and ours IS by far one of the better ones. if not in 'mood' then in control (csrs and players themselves) and maturity. (among other things) i've looked through other forums for information and found almost nothing useful. just a lot of 'leet' players and the 'n00bs' digging themselves deeper and depper into their niches.

As I answered to G, they dyd play/try to play and that plus forums with lots of talk of bots, bugs unfinished games they figured why bother, a natural conclusion. I formed the same conclusion with Dark/Light forum, I was correct in that instance

I never had a problem with Ryzom, I guess I'm lucky, my suggestion is confine it to the tech forums

Regarding other fora. yes here there are no 1337's and OMFG NOOBZ here, but in other fora, you can weed all that rubbish out, here its actual bitterness on display, not kiddies trash talking.

Anyway, what ever, I'm just telling it as it happened guys

The forum is not visited by a lot of Ryzom players.....and even fewer actually post. This is the reason you don't have the same experience ingame as on the forums fiach.

I understand what you are commenting on in your post, but the text I quoted above concerns me.....you really want ALL ryzom subscribers to be exposed to the minority attention seekers ingame

Re: Lighten Up Please :(

This is unfortunate.
As for botters..I have actually witnessed GM's dealing with botters in other games, and there are none in Ryzom. If there are, I would be really surprised.
At each others throats? OP fight-style, maybe. But otherwise this is the coolest community ever. EVER.
I'l give each of em a million dap if they come back!

I dont think you are being smart with that, well I hope not, I am asking that people dont bicker on the forum, BUT if the NEED to bicker, do it ingame, in PM's whatever.

Talk about bots??? Can you show me where they found that? and yeah the bugs are there, but which mmo doesnt have bugs...

Anyway, seems like your friends didnt really got "into ryzom" yet. You should try "to force" ( ) them to spend more time in the game, and make their own opinions based on their own experience... not on the fora

Re: Lighten Up Please :(

Basically a whole guild are leaving a game and searching for a new home, everybody made their suggestions with reviews, links etc and a team was sent to each suggested game to try it out.

All I did was document what happened with Ryzom.

They had to make a decision to keep up the guilds momentum, so didn't want to dick around, the forum weighed heavily in their deliberations.

Thats my only point Ruhen mate, its not that they were "into" Ryzom, the forum stopped them bothering, so they went with the next candidate, SotNW, which is a crap game IMO compared to Ryzom, but getting good reviews, tons of quests, you character is a team of three, so you always have a party, its like a free version of Guildwars with a different slant to the usual sword and sorcery MMO.

Re: Lighten Up Please :(

I'd have to echo Gilga, NB & the others. Considering a good batch of the issues people have recently been grumbling about are as a direct result of action or lack of action taken by GF since they took over I'd say it's been quite reserved.

*High Fives Mugo*

Like i said, i get your point val - i was saying what just about everyone else is - they obviously didnt give the game enough of a chance - i have 2 friends who did this. they tried the game for 10 minutes and quit (my account, old noob lands) i didn't push them because frankly - some folks just can't be pushed.

Ryzom's got a lot of original ideas not to be found in other MMOs - if it actually got content ? i could honestly say i'd be convinced (in my humble opinion) a better MMO could not be found. period.

Indeed is strange as there are no classes at such lol...

Now I do not fully agree with the "community at each other throat" tbh: have a little flaming (low lvl one) sometimes but have also some fantastic threads where most players agree: Think about:
- "Pve or Pvp" pool thread: more or less full consensus from both faction.
- "what about Neutrality" thread: best debate and input of ideas we had for a long time
and few other threads alike...

Now, what saddens me the most (and you are right on this but can not really blame the players) is that when I press "New posts" on a daily basis; over 50% of the new posts concern crashes, lost datas, impossibility to login and such...
That is valid for Aniro, Arispostle and Leanon....
Can't really blame the players for trying to log in game and giving feedback about having lot of problem logina nd playing this month...

Concerning your friends, I kinda agree with Gil and most posters: It does not give the impression that they really tried hard as we all know how addictive ryzom is...
AS well, for their login issues and set up under Vista or such, you should bring them on forum again AND on Klient so they can get the help they deserve and see how helpful CSR AND community are

Re: Lighten Up Please :(

To reiterate, they were moving a whole guild from one game to another, but were in a hurry to do so, in the time allotted to check out ryzom, negative forum posts, saying the game was buggy full of hackers and bots weighed heavily against the game, they did not feel the game was worth the effort, if it still remained unfinished after 2 years of it being in existance.

For the record, I agree with everyone here, otherwise I would not have lobbied so heavily for Ryzom, I believe their opinions are incorrect about the game and the forum.

My only desire here, was to ask people to be more aware of what they post in case it has a negative influence on prospective customers

One thing I am DELIGHTED with, is the tenor of the respondents of this thread and the friendly replies, I was afraid I would get a little flaming, so thanks for that

Anyway, I'm going to give it another shot with them, wth, a dumb priest never got a parish
