On Atys, death does not mean the end, however. The Kami and the Karavan have the power to bring the dead back to life.

Coma and healing:

When your character's life points drop to 0, it lapses into a coma, but is not yet dead.

The coma lasts for a short time after which your character dies. During this time, any healing spell cast on your character can bring you out of the coma.

As soon as you fall into a coma, a dark-red bar appears at the top of the screen in the "my indicators" window which indicates the time remaining before your character dies. The three bars underneath represent sap, stamina and will. These three energies gradually diminish when you are in a coma, so don't waste any time in healing your companions!

The death penality:

If nobody heals you, you will eventually die.

Your character is subject to a penalty on future experience gain. Your character does not lose any of its experience already gained, but will now have to earn a large quantity of it before resuming a normal gain rate.

Note: if there is nobody around to heal you, you can choose to die immediately in order to come back to life more quickly. To do this, simply click on the respawn button.

Coming back to life:

Once you fall into a coma, a window appears showing a map of the world. On this, you will see a blue halo. This is your respawn point (respawn point), where your character will come back to life.

Select your return point and then click on respawn (respawn) and your character will immediately come back to life at the appointed place.

The white bar counts down the time remaining before your character is automatically brought back to life at the last respawn point selected.

Caution: you are resurrected, but in a weakened state, with your energies not at maximum level.

Respawn points:

At the start of the game, your respawn point is located next to the building where you appeared.

As you progress in the game, you can acquire other respawn points.

As soon as you reach certain camps, village or town, places, you automatically gain the ability to come back to life at this location. When you have several respawn points at your disposal, when you die simply click on the desired point to resurrect in the chosen location.

Pacts:

You can buy pacts from the Kami and the Karavan.

These pacts allow you to remove the death penalty quicker, depending on the price you are willing to pay (in dappers). These pacts can only be used once.
