Why can't we delog and come back to the character selection screen? [Submitted by jeoff (FR)]
We added this option once, during the beta. However, it had a buggy side effect which caused some of the textures and character models to not be reloaded correctly. I'll spare you the details, but the amount of time required to make it work correctly was, at the time, too important; so the feature was deactivated and its priority lowered.

If we can manage to get some spare time one day - which, considering the current busy schedules, should not happen soon - we'll reintroduce a fixed version of this feature.

Can we have an explanation on how to integrate (or not) the FvF zones to the roleplay of our characters?
[Submitted by Billie21 (FR)]
As explained by the PvP Strike Team letter, the FvF zones will be extended to the whole world once it is patched live. The current limited zones are thus a temporary restriction compared to the future PvP system, and there is no roleplay explanation.

However, on a higher scale, you can see it as the premises of the war; local conflicts emerge, but haven't yet reached a global scale.

Is neutrality (toward both the Kami and Karavan factions) an option? [FAQ]
Yes. However, in your roleplay, you should probably consider the fact that the Kami and the Karavan are too powerful and homins are too dependant of these two factions to oppose them openly. Being neutral is ok, provoking both the Karavan and the Kamis is suicide. :-)

However, there is always the option of having an hidden agenda...

Does the Karavan forbids all homins to go down to the prime roots, or only the Karavan followers? [submitted by Allezkwa (FR)]
All homins. However, there is a tolerance for the higher levels of the prime roots, such as those currently accessible in-game. After the Kitin Wars, as the Karavan wasn't able to restrain homins from hiding there, especially since they begun harvesting the raw materials they have found there.

But the lower levels are still forbidden, as the danger of falling under the influence of the Great Dragon increases as you go deeper into it, and the way has been blocked.

Back in the Beta there was a so-called defense window, with switches for dodge/parry and the possibility to assign priorities to body-parts. What happened with that? =) [Submitted by Xenofur (DE)]
It was judged too complex to be let as is - Ryzom is already quite complex in some areas, we didn't wanted to add this extra burden. It could be reintroduced in a different way in the future, but there is currently no plan to do it.

What is the "Wutangriff" (Berserker attack) intended for? This skill has just a Placebo-effect in my eyes.
[Submitted by Certago (DE)]
The berserk action increases the damage you inflict to your opponent of a small amount of hit points, but in exchange inflicts you damages every 4 seconds while it is active. The duration is 20-35 seconds, and the the amount of damages (inflicted on the opponent and on yourself) is between 10-45 - it depends on the level.

So you're quite right, the effect is tiny here.

You guys did actually make something new in the game a bit recently (the new faction pvp zones) yet it never got any build up, or an event style shanagans. I remember lots of Kitin in great outback for the opening of the new portal. Just wondering if your planning anything storyline related for more changes or just throwing things out there unconnected to any coherent plan? [Submitted by g00st (EN)]
We can, sometimes, add features unrelated to the storyline change. Some features are adding new gameplay elements, but it doesn't systematically influences the storyline. For example, if we were to add the ability to sit on a chair one day (hey, that's just an example, I didn't said we would do it!), it is unlikely that the change would be explained from a roleplay standpoint. You can already roleplay sitting on a chair, nothing in the storyline or in the background prevents you from doing it. It's just that you can't visually see it on the client, since there is currently no code to support that action.

The same applies to PvP. There is no reason why a homin can't use his sword against another homin in Pyr. This is just a gameplay rule. The introduction of the PvP flag and worldwide FvF won't be explained from a roleplay standpoint. However, the changes in the gameplay rules will support the advancement of the storyline and be used by events.

Some other features, like the introduction of the outposts, will be explained by the story.

At the end, it just depends on how relevant the change is to the story.

Is there any efforts being made to move the meat of the storyline from the forums and website to within the game? Currently, most of the story and details behind events are communicated on the forums rather than through the game itself. [FAQ]
Currently, no.

A first step will be to develop the amount of information we provide regarding the background and the on-going events. We are preparing a roleplay specific website (you can see it as a kind of newspaper), which will gather the information. You can see it as a kind of Atys newspaper.

Then, we have plans to introduce the information in-game, but they are a bit elaborate and would require some development resources. More on that when we actually start working on it, but don't expect this to happen too quickly.

Is the Fyros desert made of sand or woodchip or dried moss or what? [Submitted by boinged (EN)]
Woodchip. Since there are no minerals on Atys, it couldn't be sand as we know it.
