Cette extension apporte au joueur tout ce dont il a besoin pour créer un scénario à son profil. Les outils mis à disposition sont au premier abord compliqués, mais se révèlent rapidement très maniables et très puissants.

Ryzom Ring adds astounding value to an already enjoyable game, and introduces perhaps the best concept ever implemented into an MMORPG. Ryzom have very nice graphics, decent game play, interesting and unique settings and artwork. Sound, weather, lighting all works together nicely.

Der "Ring" aber macht es fast unabdingbar, zumindest einen Blick auf "Ryzom" zu werfen und ich bin mir sicher, dass einige Spieler so von der freundlichen Community und von den ganzen Features, die man nicht zusätzlich bezahlen muss, so überzeugt werden, dass sie bald mehr von Atys als nur die Anfangs-Insel sehen wollen.

Zum ersten Mal in der hingebungsvollen MMO welt ist es für den Spieler möglich, den Inhalt und Missionen mit Freunden und Bekanntschaften zu erschaffen und zu teilen.Nevrax hat eine ganz neue Reihe von Möglichkeiten für Spieler und Hobby-Entwickler geöffnet. Es wird interessant sein, zu sehen, ob andere Spieleentwickler in die Fußstapfen von Nevrax treten werden und den Spielern erlauben, neuen Inhalt miteinander zu schaffen und zu teilen.

Trotz der ungeheuren Komplexität ist dieser recht einfach zu bedienen und in relativ kurzer Zeit hat man ein Szenario entworfen, das ganz und gar nach Wünschen und Vorstellungen des Spielers gestaltet ist.

Der Ryzom-Ring-Editor erlaubt es in wenigen Minuten eigene Abenteuer in verschiedenen vorgegebenen, aber mit Kreaturen, Pflanzen und Schätzen veränderbaren Umgebungen zu erstellen.

God Game. French game maker Nevrax is releasing tools that let players craft and run their own sophisticated scenarios set in the Ryzom game world. The scenario creation kit can be used to create quests for other players to complete and, once written, edited and uploaded, will become part of the larger game that anyone can play.

You can programme NPCs to talk, assign quests, fight battles, or just wander around looking like part of the scenery. You can even get them to respond to each other, or hijack conversations a player has with other NPCs; all of this continually expands the options available to users, giving you a good wedge of creative power.

Damit hat Nevrax mit dem Ryzom-Ring einen Weg eingeschlagen der abseits vom Mainstream vielleicht das komplette MMORPG-Genre revolutioniert. Denn hat man sich mit dem System erst einmal angefreundet, erscheinen einem alle anderen MMORPGs nur noch wie Schnee von gestern.

For all intents and purposes they've made an easy-to-use modding tool and opened it up to the public, allowing friends to play one another's missions in no time at all. In the end the idea is to have a constantly refreshing database of quests for players to try out and fool around with.

Heute führte uns Milko Berset, Director beim französischen Spielehersteller Nevrax, ein Add-on zum Online-RPG The Saga of Ryzom vor. Es trägt den Namen Ryzom Ring, abgekürzt R², und ist etwas Besonderes: Ein Toolset nämlich, das Spielern eigene Abenteuer bauen lässt, mit Monstern, Missionen, Story.

Nevrax hopes that the Ring inspires a large community of quest developers and content sharing. Players can export and share their quests with others outside the game. Berset also noted that one reason he was looking forward to the Ring was that it also enabled players to easily create movies using the game engine. They demonstrated this with their Ring trailer.

Fortunately, the scenario creation process is very intuitive and seems to minimize the procedural frustrations common in other non-MMO attempts at scenario development kits. On your development palette, you’ll find Ethec-friendly buttons like “Undo” and “Redo” (with a sizable history to-boot). The online framework is entirely built in, too.

La settimana scorsa sono stato negli studi della Nevrax, in Francia, per la presentazione del loro nuovo prodotto Ryzom Ring, editor di mondi per il loro gioco Saga of Ryzom. Devo dire che il gioco graficamente si presenta molto bene, sicuramente al passo coi tempi, e la giocabilità non è affatto male.

Gli strumenti ci sono davvero tutti: in men che non si dica si impara a districarsi tra trigger, tag, zone, pannelli di quest, posizionamento oggetti, posizionamento mob, tutte operazioni ulteriormente semplificate da una interfaccia di creazione che funziona con il principio del drag 'n drop. Il risultato è davvero sorprendente.

Dans le Ring, le Dungeon Master (DM) peut à tout moment passer du mode jeu au mode éditeur, et ainsi avoir accès aux outils. Il peut donc démarrer une action qu'il n'a pas automatisé sans abandonner définitivement la partie. Pratique pour régler au poil les débarquements de monstres en tout genre.

Compared to other development tools I’ve seen, the Ryzom Ring editor was impressive. It was easy to use, easy to understand over the developer’s shoulder and seemed as if someone with only moderate technical skills would have no problems at all figuring it out.

Nevrax pourrait bien imposer un nouvel archétype de l’extension d’un MMO avec Le Ring. Nous nous sommes rendus dans les (très jolis) locaux de Nevrax pour jeter un œil sur le premier éditeur de quête dans l’histoire des MMO, ou quand les enfants du jeu de rôle papier reviennent aux sources. Les maîtres de jeu vont revenir en force !

The Ring is a first for an MMO. It will take players where they have never been able to go before, in to the designer’s seat. In DM mode you can instantly transport anywhere on the map, or you can run there extremely fast. When your adventure is uploaded and becomes live, you can instantly kill players or NPCs, spawn or despawn enemies, create and destroy items, and pretty much anything else that the creator of any game could do.

I HAVE to have it, and if writing your own adventures or designing your own levels is your thing, you need it too. Even better than the level creation, is the ability to use the tool to create your own digital movies. I can’t wait to get home and have a try at it. I can see MANY long nights disappearing playing around in Ring.

Le Ring propose donc grâce à une interface intuitive et assez complète de créer de A à Z des scenarii allant de la très basique recherche d'objet à des choses beaucoup plus complètes et complexes. Le créateur (ou Dungeon Master), pourra ainsi mettre à disposition de toute la communauté les scénarii entièrement automatisés qui seront sortis de son imagination.

La première impression qui se dégage de cette présentation, c'est la simplicité d'utilisation de "Ring", facilité pourtant conjuguée à une profondeur pléthorique des options. En moins de cinq minutes, les développeurs ont mis sur pied une quête basique : la recherche d'un objet dans le désert avec attaque de créatures.

Endlich können kreative Spieler selbst Szenarien entwickeln und diese dann der Community zur Verfügung stellen. Wer schon einmal in einem Onlinerollenspiel förmlich versunken ist, der kennt sicherlich den Wunsch, die Welt nach eigenen Vorstellungen umzubauen oder zu erweitern.

Wow, das gefällt mir wirklich gut. Ich mag es selber Maps zu basteln und diese mit anderen Zockern aus der ganzen Welt zu spielen und wenn das Erstellen eines Levels auch noch so einfach ist, dann ist es noch besser.

We're breaking the mold that says "Only developers may make content" and making a new mold. One that says it is OK for players to have access to the game libraries of creatures, NPCs, buildings and objects to build something new, different… heck, maybe something wildly different. Rather than be scared about it, we're awed by the coolness of it.

The original category included Horizons instead of Asheron's Call and managed to produced a dead split between the top four games (22% each). Oddly enough, this didn't carry over into the finals, where The Saga of Ryzom emerged on top with 31% of the votes. City of Heroes / Villains grabbed 19% for second place.
